In 1744, the Edinburgh Golf Association formulated and published a total of thirteen golf rules, which were first applied to the first British Open in 1754. Since 1897, R&A (Royal Classical Golf Club) has been responsible for maintaining and modifying golf rules. Golf withdrew from the Olympics in 1936, but its development did not stop. The North American continent is constantly experiencing a wave of golf, and due to regional, cultural, and political differences, rules have become ambiguous. Since 1951, the golf rules have been jointly approved by R&A and USGA (American Golf Association), and are revised every four years. The golf rules established by R&A and USGA maintain the order of golf movement. With the continuous development of golf, the importance of various major events in world sports has been continuously increasing. Finally, in 2016, golf returned to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In this context, R&A and USGA have revised the golf rules and implemented them from January 1, 2019. [8]
