Dimensional accuracy refers to the degree to which the actual size of a part after mold processing matches the center of the tolerance zone of the part size, usually controlled by dimensional tolerance. When the basic dimensions are the same, the smaller the dimensional tolerance, the higher the dimensional accuracy.
Shape accuracy refers to the degree to which the actual geometric shape of the part surface after mold processing matches the ideal geometric shape. Shape accuracy has a significant impact on the quality and performance of molds, therefore the requirements for shape accuracy are high.
Position accuracy refers to the actual position accuracy difference between the relevant surfaces of the parts after mold processing. The items for evaluating positional accuracy include parallelism, verticality, inclination, coaxiality, symmetry, positional accuracy, circular runout, and total runout. The positional accuracy is controlled by positional tolerances, and the positional tolerances of each project are also divided into 12 accuracy levels.
Surface roughness refers to the micro unevenness of the surface of a part after mold processing. Surface roughness has a significant impact on the friction performance and lifespan of molds, therefore the requirements for surface roughness are also high.
In order to improve the machining accuracy of the mold, it is necessary to pay attention to the following points:
1. Choose appropriate processing technology and equipment: Different processing technologies and equipment have different requirements for mold processing accuracy. Therefore, when selecting processing technology and equipment, the selection should be based on comprehensive factors such as the shape, material, and processing requirements of the mold.
2. Strengthen worker training and skill enhancement: The skills and experience of workers have a significant impact on the accuracy of mold processing. Therefore, it is necessary to provide training and skill enhancement for workers to improve their skill level and operational accuracy.
