The principle of stamping processing is to use a press and mold to apply pressure to the sheet metal, causing it to undergo plastic deformation, thereby obtaining the desired shape and size of the workpiece. In stamping processing, the mold is the core component that determines the shape and size of the workpiece. The press provides the necessary power to enable the mold to complete the stamping process. By designing and adjusting different molds, various plastic deformation processes of sheet metal can be achieved, such as stretching, bending, shearing, deep drawing, bulging, spinning, correction, etc.
Stamping technology can be used for processing, metal sheets, and non-metallic sheets
Stamping process characteristics: high production efficiency; Stable quality can be achieved in mass production; High material utilization rate and low production cost; Can manufacture workpieces with complex shapes.
Limitations of stamping production: high mold making costs; High technical requirements; Not suitable for single piece, small batch production.
Work hardening: At room temperature, as the degree of deformation increases, the strength index of metal materials increases while the plasticity index decreases.
Stamping classification: separation process, forming process
Separation process: During the stamping process, the stamped part and the sheet metal are separated from each other along a certain contour line under the action of shear or tensile stress. The separation process mainly refers to punching, including material cutting, punching, cutting, edge cutting, sectioning, and other processes.
Ordinary punching: a stamping process completed by breaking and separating methods.
Precision punching: a stamping process completed by deformation separation.
Forming process: During the stamping process, the blank undergoes plastic deformation without damage, becoming the required shape and size of the workpiece. At the same time, the stamped part should meet the requirements of dimensional accuracy. The forming process mainly includes bending, stretching, bulging, flanging, etc.
Blanking: Use a mold to cut along the closed contour line, with the lower part being the part. Used for manufacturing various flat parts or forming process blanks
Punching: Cut along the closed contour line with a mold, and the lower part is made of waste material. Hole shapes for punching various types of parts
Bending; Bend the sheet metal into various shapes along a straight line, with the outer layer of the sheet metal subjected to tensile force and the inner layer subjected to compressive shrinkage force. Can process parts with complex shapes.
