Product Description

 

When manufacturing dies, the use of hard alloy materials with high hardness, high strength, high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and low expansion coefficient as convex and concave dies is called hard alloy dies. The main materials used for punch convex and concave molds are tungsten drill hard alloys.

 

The structure of hard alloy stamping dies is basically the same as that of steel stamping dies, and can be made into single process molds, composite molds, and continuous molds. However, due to the brittleness of hard alloy itself, it is best not to force the edge of the hard alloy on one side during punching. The mold structure used in mass production is mostly a continuous mold structure.

 

Regardless of the structural form used, hard alloy dies should have the following characteristics in terms of structure compared to general steel dies:

1. Mold handle

Hard alloy stamping dies often adopt a floating handle structure to avoid the impact of the precision of the press on the stamping process during stamping.

2. Mold base

The mold frame used for hard alloy molds should have sufficient rigidity. The template should be 5~10mm thicker than the general steel punching template, mostly made of 45 # steel, HRC38~420

3. Guiding mechanism

The guiding mechanism of the mold should operate smoothly, reliably, and with high accuracy. Generally, a ball guide pillar type mold frame is used, and a four guide pillar guiding structure is often used.

4. Backing plate

In order to prevent the hard alloy from cracking during stamping, hardened pads should be installed on both the concave and convex molds. (Material available T7)

5. Unloading and ejection device

The unloading and ejection device should adopt a fixed unloading plate structure as much as possible to prevent the impact of stamping on the concave mold. When using an elastic discharge plate, a small guide pillar should be added to guide the discharge plate. To avoid impact, the height h of the pressure step of the discharge plate should be one material thickness smaller than the thickness H of the guide plate, and h=H-t-0.05.

6. Gap between convex and concave molds

The gap between convex and concave dies is larger than that of steel dies, usually 0.15 times the thickness of the material or 1.5 times the gap of ordinary dies.

7. The guide plate, positioning pin, and guide pin need to be heat treated and hardened.

8. The structure of the concave mold insert block should ensure relative stability after being combined with the fixed plate.
