Common knowledge of stamping molds
1. Mold type
There are various types of stamping molds, mainly including punching molds, bending molds, stretching molds, shearing molds, etc. Each type of mold has its specific application scope and characteristics. For example, punching molds are mainly used to punch holes of various shapes on metal plates; The bending mold can bend the metal plate into the desired shape; Stretching molds are mainly used for deep stretching forming; Cutting molds are used to cut metal plates into specific shapes.
2. Mold structure
The structural design of stamping dies is the foundation for achieving their functions. Generally speaking, the mold structure includes upper mold seat, lower mold seat, stripper plate, formed parts, and other parts. The upper and lower mold seats are connected by guide pillars and guide sleeves, while the stripper plate is used to separate the formed parts from the metal plate. 7. Mold processing
Mold processing is an important step in achieving the intent of mold design. The machining process includes stages such as rough machining, semi precision machining, and precision machining. The rough machining stage mainly involves processing the blank into rough shapes and sizes; The semi precision machining stage involves rough machining of key parts, providing a foundation for subsequent precision machining; The precision machining stage is achieved by using processes such as fine cutting and polishing to achieve the predetermined precision and roughness requirements on the surface of the mold. In addition, for some complex or special mold parts, special processes such as electrical discharge machining and laser processing are also required.
