Draft angle
When designing die castings, there should be a structural slope left on the structure. If there is no structural slope, there must be a demolding process slope where necessary. The direction of inclination must be consistent with the demolding direction of the casting.The recommended demolding slope is shown in Table 1.

Explanation: ① The dimensional deviation of the casting caused by this slope is not included in the dimensional tolerance value.
② The values in the table only apply to the depth of the cavity or the height of the core ≤ 50mm, with a surface roughness of, and a minimum value of 0.03mm for the single side difference between the large end and small end dimensions. When the depth or height is greater than 50mm, or the surface roughness exceeds, the demolding angle can be appropriately increased. The inclination effect is to reduce the friction between the casting and the mold cavity, making it easy to remove the casting; Ensure that the surface of the casting is not pulled; To extend the service life of die-casting molds, the minimum casting inclination of aluminum alloy die-casting parts is generally as follows

In order to smoothly demould, reduce the pushing force and core pulling force, and reduce mold loss, when designing die castings, there should be as much inclination as possible in the structure. This reduces the friction between the die casting and the mold, makes it easy to remove the casting, and also prevents the surface of the casting from being pulled, ensuring a smooth and clean surface.
Reinforcing rib
The setting of reinforcing ribs can increase the strength and rigidity of the parts, while improving the processability of die casting.
However, it should be noted that:
① The distribution should be uniform and symmetrical;
② The root connected to the casting should have rounded corners;
③ Avoid cross reinforcement;
④ The width of the reinforcement should not exceed the thickness of the connected walls. When the wall thickness is less than 1.5mm, reinforcing bars should not be used;
⑤ The demolding angle of the reinforcing rib should be greater than the allowable casting angle of the inner cavity of the casting.
If it is greater than or equal to mm, it will reduce the tensile strength and easily cause porosity and shrinkage.
Design principles: 1. Large stress, reduce wall thickness, and improve strength.
2. Symmetrical arrangement, uniform wall thickness, and avoidance of shrinkage and porosity.
3. Align with the direction of material flow to avoid turbulence.
4. Avoid setting any components on the ribs.
The function of the ribs is to improve the strength and rigidity of the parts after the wall thickness is thinned, prevent shrinkage deformation of the casting, and avoid deformation of the workpiece when it is ejected from the mold. When filling, it is used to act as an auxiliary circuit (a passage for metal flow). The thickness of the ribs in the die casting should be less than the thickness of the wall, usually 2/3~3/4 of the thickness at that location. Die-casting parts tend to adopt uniform thin-walled structures. In order to improve their strength and rigidity, and prevent deformation, it is not necessary to simply increase the wall thickness, but to use appropriate thin-walled reinforcing ribs to achieve this goal. The reinforcing ribs should be symmetrically arranged with uniform thickness to avoid new metal accumulation. To reduce the resistance during demolding, the reinforcing ribs should have a casting slope.
