The production process of plastic molds
The production process of manufacturing plastic molds can usually be divided into four main steps: design, processing, heat treatment, and assembly.
(1) Design
Mold design is the first step in the production process of plastic molds. In this process, the design engineer needs to consider various requirements of the product from appearance to weight, and design a complete mold drawing based on these requirements.
(2) Processing
Mold processing is one of the key steps in mold production, which includes processes such as rough machining, precision machining, and surface treatment. In this process, the processing personnel will manufacture components based on the design drawings and then assemble them into a complete mold frame.
(3) Heat treatment
Heat treatment is carried out to improve the performance of the mold and extend its service life. It will change the metal structure of the mold, thereby increasing its strength and hardness, and preventing mold deformation. This process requires specific heat treatment methods based on factors such as different types of materials and usage requirements.
(4) Assembly
Assembly is the final step in mold production. During this process, the processing personnel will assemble different components into a complete plastic mold, and then debug and test the mold to ensure its normal operation.
