The selection of cutting tools not only affects the machining efficiency of machine tools, but also affects the quality of parts processing, making it an important element in CNC machining.
Performance requirements for CNC cutting tools
Due to the characteristics of high machining accuracy, high machining efficiency, centralized machining process, and short clamping time of parts, CNC machine tools have higher requirements for the use of CNC tools.
When selecting CNC tools, standard tools should be the primary tool, and various high-efficiency composite tools and special tools can be selected as needed. When selecting standard CNC tools, various advanced tools should be selected as much as possible based on actual situations (such as indexable tools, solid carbide tools, ceramic tools, etc.).
When selecting CNC machine tools to handle cutting tools, the following aspects must also be considered:
1. The model, specifications, and accuracy level of CNC tools.
The model, specifications, and accuracy level of CNC cutting tools should meet the processing requirements, and the tool material should be compatible with the workpiece material.
2. Good cutting performance.
In order to adapt to rough machining and machine tool processing, large back cutting and high feed can be used, which can withstand high-speed cutting and strong cutting performance. At the same time, the cutting performance and tool life of the same batch of tools must be stable in order to change the tools based on the differences in tool life, or to manage tool life through the CNC system.
3. High precision.
In order to meet the requirements of high-precision CNC machining and automatic tool replacement, high-precision is required, such as the radial dimensional accuracy of some solid end mills.
4. High reliability.
To ensure that the tools are not accidentally damaged and that potential defects do not occur during CNC machining, the tools and accessories must be reliable and suitable.
5. High durability.
The tools used in CNC machining have higher durability in rough and precision machining than those commonly used in machine tool machining.
In CNC machining, blade cutting and blade removal cannot be handled like usual machine tools, and can be manually handled in terms of time. Blades are easy to package tools and workpieces. It damaged the tool, scratched the machining surface of the workpiece, and caused further injuries and equipment accidents. Due to the quality and safe operation of the machine, tool breakage and blade retraction performance are good.
