In hardware processing, any rotating parts that can be clamped on a regular lathe can be processed on a CNC lathe. However, CNC lathes have the characteristics of high machining accuracy, the ability to perform linear and circular interpolation, and the ability to automatically change gears during hardware processing, making their process range much wider than ordinary machine tools.
CNC lathes have good rigidity, high manufacturing and tool setting accuracy, and can easily and accurately enter manual and automatic compensation. Therefore, they can process parts with high dimensional accuracy requirements. In addition, the tool motion of CNC turning is achieved through high-precision interpolation motion and servo drive. In addition, the machine tool has good rigidity and high manufacturing accuracy, so it can process parts with high requirements for shape accuracy such as generatrix straightness, roundness, and cylindricity. For arcs and other curve contours, the similarity between the processed shape and the required geometric shape on the drawing is much higher than using a copying lathe.
CNC lathes have a constant linear speed cutting function, so the optimal linear speed can be selected to cut the conical surface and end face, making the surface roughness value after turning both small and consistent, and processing parts with small and uniform surface roughness values.
CNC lathes are not only capable of turning straight, conical, and end face threads of any equal lead, but also of turning threads with smooth transitions between variable lead and variable lead. When turning threads on a CNC lathe, the spindle rotation does not need to change alternately like a regular lathe. It can cycle one tool after another without stopping until it is completed, so the efficiency of CNC lathe threads is very high.
