The cold heading process is a crucial manufacturing technique for the automated mass manufacture of special-shaped components for domestic appliances, motorbikes, bicycles, and automobile fasteners. Metal fibres (metal flow lines) are continuous along the contour of the product without grain breaking, boosting product strength, especially with high mechanical qualities, and saving raw materials when compared to cutting processes. Fasteners are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious in response to the growing demand for environmental protection. Therefore, cold heading is pursuing high strength and high added value as a non-cutting shaping technology.

 

1. Punching holes with constrained stamping produces better results when the distance between the shape of the constrained stamping and the edge of the inner hole is less than the thickness of the plate, the inner diameter is greater than half the outer diameter, and the height is greater than 1.5 times the inner diameter. Due to the near proximity of the form to the inner hole's edge, the force of the punching needle will have an impact on the shape, changing its size. This aspect of the appearance must be kept in a restricted state to avoid alterations in overall size. The stamping component is under compressive stress as a result of the constraint force. In this state of punching compressive stress, taking appropriate gaps can achieve a stamping effect that is entirely bright.

 

2.Cold heading plastic processing is typically used to manufacture bolt heads through cutting and extrusion, and this method has more benefits than expansion forming. To produce a blank that satisfies the process requirements, the blank must be reshaped prior to cutting and extrusion forming. The blank's size must be considered carefully, and its shape prior to extrusion should be chosen based on the state of the parts, choosing a blank shape that promotes material flow.If the size of the blank is too large, that is, if the cutting and extrusion allowance is too large, the required cutting and extrusion force will be greater, which can easily reduce the service life of the cutting and extrusion mold, increase the possibility of accidental damage to the mold, and consume raw materials; If the cutting and extrusion allowance is too small, the parts may easily fall off corners after cutting and extrusion, resulting in incomplete shape and unsatisfactory appearance quality. The focus of the mold structure is on the design and processing of the cutting and extrusion film. It is best to control the working size of the blade at the middle and lower limits, and the angle of the cutting and extrusion mold should be appropriate. The blade must be ground and polished, with a roughness of Ra0.025 to Ra0.050μ m. Has the highest lifespan.

② Micro local shaping for some set screws requires processing 1-3 chip scraping grooves, which can be done using extrusion technology, for the purposes of locking and chip removal. The development of chip-scraping grooves for automobile combination bolts is a good example.
