The USBType-C interface has six major advantages:
1) Full functionality: Supports data, audio, video, and charging simultaneously, laying the foundation for high-speed data, digital audio, high-definition video, fast charging, and multiple devices
A backup shared foundation, where one cable can replace multiple previous cables;
2) Front and back insertion: Similar to the Apple Lighting interface, the port has the same front and back sides, supporting front and back insertion;
3) Bidirectional transmission: Data and electricity can be transmitted in both directions;
4) Downward compatibility: Through the adapter, it can be compatible with USB Type A, Micro B and other interfaces;
5) Small size: The interface size is 8.3mm X 2.5mm, which is approximately 1/3 of the USB-A interface;
6) High speed: Compatible with USB 3.1 protocol and can support up to 10Gb/s data transfer.
Type-C principle
Type-C adopts an inverted design, which means that it can be connected correctly regardless of the insertion direction. This is because the design of the Type-C interface introduces 16 signal pins, of which 8 are used for power and ground, and the other 8 are used for data transmission. This design allows Type-C to transmit data and charge simultaneously, greatly improving the flexibility and convenience of the connection.
The Type-C interface adopts the standard of USB 3.1 and supports data transfer rates up to 10Gbps, which is several times faster than traditional USB interfaces. At the same time, Type-C also supports power transmission of up to 100W, which can meet the charging needs of most devices. This means that we can not only connect mobile phones, tablets, and other devices to computers for data transmission through the Type-C interface, but also directly charge these devices through the Type-C interface, greatly simplifying the charging process.
In the connection process of Type-C, there is also a very important concept, which is the handshake protocol. The handshake protocol refers to a series of communication and verification between the two parties when a device is connected, to ensure the stability and security of the connection. Through the handshake protocol, the device can automatically recognize the other party's functions and requirements, and make corresponding settings and adjustments. In this way, we no longer need to worry about connecting devices, just simply plug in the Type-C interface, and devices can automatically connect and pair.
The Type-C interface also supports the "bidirectional power supply" function, which means that not only can power be transmitted from the power source to the device, but also from the device to the power source. This means that we can connect the device to the computer through the Type-C interface, not only for data transmission, but also for transferring power from the computer to the device, achieving fast charging. This bidirectional power supply function is very practical on mobile devices, which can greatly shorten charging time and improve usage efficiency.
The Type-C interface also supports "extension functions", which means that other peripherals can be connected through the Type-C interface to achieve more functions. For example, a Type-C interface can be used to connect a monitor and project the screen of a phone or tablet onto a larger screen, providing a better visual experience; External storage devices can also be connected through the Type-C interface to expand their storage space and facilitate data backup and transmission.
